Our young drivers join up between the ages of 7 years and 14 years to start in the Rookie class.
Even Junior drivers start in the Rookie class and after the first meeting may elect to race with the Junior field with
parental and Club permission. This occurrence usually only applies to young drivers with previous racing experience who can
show they are competitive with the other Juniors. They compete from the rear of field in the Junior class for a minimum of
three race meetings.
The major difference between Rookies and Juniors is the restrictor plate, which as its name implies, restricts the motor
in power. The plate (with a 13mm maximum diameter hole) must be in place between the header and motor at all race meetings.
Rookies (only) are permitted to run a clutch to ensure they complete as much time on the track as possible.
It is encouraged to keep new drivers in the Rookie class for as long as they need where they can learn important driving
skills and become competitive in a safe division.
To develop the driving skills of our young karters, we ensure they get plenty of track time. Our kids can't learn
unless they're out on the track driving!
We promote the highest ideals of sportsmanship and fairness, thereby cultivating strength of character, self discipline
and responsibility.
Objectives: To provide quality opportunities for Juniors to participate in motorsport. To provide a safe, enjoyable
environment where Juniors can participate without prejudice. To encourage skill development, fun and learning together. To
develop values of fairness, self improvement and achievement.
